As the avionics lead on the bi-propellant liquid rocket team, Beach Launch Team, I was responsible for data acquisition as well as supporting loading and launching the vehicle safely utilizing the team’s Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). During my time on BLT, I successfully supported one static fire and two launch attempts. During these, I am responsible for verifying control over the propulsion systems solenoid valves via LabVIEW in addition to acquiring data from the various sensors on board and on ground.

Outside of doing the necessary tasks revolving the EGSE, I trained members of the team on how to use LabVIEW, working with the system’s hardware and pinning, and how to troubleshoot.

Lastly, to always progress the avionics system, I worked on developing a new EGSE utilizing ADAM and National Instruments systems for data acquisition to improve sample rate, data quality, and reliability. Furthermore, I designed a transportable and feasible data acquisition system based off of RaspberryPi to support research and testing conducted in the team’s lab, specifically supporting pressure transducers, load cells, and thermocouples.
